The concept of "Requirement" can be partitioned into 2 primary classes; Functional Requirement andNon-Functional Requirement. All requirements can be classified as one of these two classes. IP217 is concerned only with the Functional Requirement class. These are requirements that describe the intended functionality of a target application and that can be verified by exercising the target application with input stimulus and measuring the response of the application at its outputs.
